I keep all of my photographs in a separate blog at www.meganaho.com. It's mostly surf and nature photography, although I have eclectic taste and enjoy trying to capture moments anytime, anywhere.

A flyer design for the March 12th event with the Hawaii Kai Chamber of Commerce. In addition to the flyer design, I'm providing ticket sales management (including invitation emails) and will be recording the event in HD video for uploading to YouTube.

I've been working on a personal photography project with some of the spectacular locations we have here in Hawaii. It started with a photo I took of the Sydney Opera House, and ever since then I've been chasing around locations, trying to find the right viewpoint to create these photos.

This is a flyer design used in online promotions for the first Networking Luncheon of 2010 with the Hawai'i Kai Chamber of Commerce. We integrated the flyer with the online ticket manager system (Eventbrite) and offered online ticket sales right from the home page of the website. Below is a screenshot of the completed event webpage where people purchase tickets using Paypal or credit cards. This is an example of how everything needs to tie together: graphic design, event marketing, online ticket sales and paypal integration.

Maika'i Massage is the professional massage therapy business owned by Kelly Rasmussen. Based in downtown Kailua, the business needed to create consistent marketing materials that include rack cards, a display rack for the rack cards, and logo design. The two-sided full-color rack cards will be used both in her office as promotional materials, and in other rack displays within the community.

While the screenshot might look like a simple (and somewhat skinny) website, it's actually an email! Hawaii Leadership Academy has been creating some really fun emails over the past 6 months with embedded YouTube videos from the Founding Director, interesting stories, and live links to the Facebook Fan page, the main website, and the online donations page, all of which we've set up together. In addition to being able to create customized and eyecatching emails, their contact lists are automatically managed. People can subscribe/unsubscribe, and bounced emails are 'cleaned' regularly by the system. Hawaii Leadership Academy has been able to stay in closer touch with the huge ohana of graduates, donors, families and supporting businesses, and the general response has been incredibly positive: people are forwarding the newsletters to their friends and visiting the website!Hi there!

My Zenfolio Premium account paid for itself within 1 day of being online! No joke. Their customer service has been prompt, the user interface is friendly, I haven’t had any clients contacting me with technical difficulties, and uploading is an easy process. I would highly recommend Zenfolio for anyone doing event or session photography: it’s so great to be able to upload password-protected galleries for clients and to be able to offer digital downloads.

We just set up a basic Paypal-based storefront for Underwater Goddess. Customers can purchase greeting cards (packs of 6) or original works of art. This is an incredibly cost-effective solution for getting started with selling products or services online: set up a Paypal account, generate button code and product thumbnails, upload to the website, spread the word and start taking orders.Comments Off
We put together some business cards for In Deep Photo. This challenge with these cards was that they needed to be fully waterproof, since he is a surf photographer and most of the time he needs to have his cards with him while he is shooting. It was really, really difficult to find a good online printer for waterproof business cards that was also cost-effective. Lots of companies were quoting in the $400 range for 1000 cards. We finally found a company that allowed for online orders, 4colorprint.com. They quoted only $125 for 4-color printing on 12mil card: absolutely waterproof and great quality. Their shipping rates were completely reasonable as well. I don't usually plug third-party services on this blog, but in this instance I thought it was worth it.

I provide event photography for the one-week Hawai'i Leadership Academy for Teenagers Camps, and create a DVD slideshow with music for the families and for future camp promotions. The project also includes posting photos every evening so parents from Hawai'i and the mainland can check in and see the activities their teens have been participating in during the day.

The Hawaii Rolfing website, one of the first websites I put together, was long overdue for a major facelift. The original color scheme was kind of 'clunky' and the layout looked like it was made with tables (although it wasn't).

Beautiful Son Foundation, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, now has a beautiful informational tri-fold brochure design that outlines the programs they offer. With Autism affecting 1 in 150 children, finding solutions is an urgent priority. Children in Hawaii have a particularly difficult time accessing treatments due to geographic isolation & costs.

We've added a new page layout to www.fcmhi.com that integrates well into the rest of the site. This is a good example of a site evolving over time to meet the needs of the business: we're refining the look of the site and continuously optimizing for search engines. The goal is to be on the first page of Google results for Hawaii Wedding Videography: the site has so far steadily climbed from the seventh page to the third page.

Q-Card Tips was originally a site that was built entirely on a shopping cart platform. We took the basic concept and created an informational site with an integrated Paypal shopping cart. At the present time, there is only one item (The Original Q-Card Tips) featured on the site, but plans are in the works to develop more Q-Cards. This site will easily allow for future expansion and updates.

This week we put together an online community for Kapuaokalani: Academy of Hawaiian Soulistic Healing. The forum is a great addition to the Kapuaokalani website because it allows all of the Lomilomi practitioners and students of Hawaiian culture to meet, network and share ideas. Kumu Karen wanted a place for everyone to communicate easily with each other, and I wanted it to be as user-friendly as possible. It is completely integrated within the website as an 'online community'
